Elizabeth P. Allen, JD, LLMAs stated in a prior post, we decided to shorten the name of the firm from “Gibbons, Neuman, Bello, Segall, Allen & Halloran, P.A.” to “Gibbons | Neuman.”  Since that time, we have been reintroducing you to our great team of lawyers ready and able to help you.

 

One of those lawyers is Elizabeth P. Allen.

 

Elder Law attorney Liz Allen is a shareholder in firm and has been practicing law since 1989.  Liz focuses on helping seniors, individuals with disabilities and their families who are worried about losing their life savings and quality of life due to a long term health issue or disability.   She provides her clients with estate planning, Medicaid and VA Pension planning, and Special Needs Trust planning.

 

A native of Massachusetts, Liz moved to Florida in 1981 and graduated from the University of South Florida, then attended Stetson University College of Law receiving her Juris Doctor degree.  She was an Adjunct Professor at Stetson Law School in Gulfport, Florida for 12 years.  Liz later returned to Stetson and received her Masters of Law in Elder Law. Her memberships include: the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys; the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar and that Section’s Medicaid Committee; the Elder Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association; and the Thomas E. Penick Elder Law Inn of Court, the nation’s first Elder Law Inn of Court.

 

Liz is past–chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Elder Law Section and was co-editor of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorney’s weekly national eBulletin newsletter.  She is a member of Better Living for Seniors Alliance Tampa and is a Committee chair on that organization.  She has published national articles and given presentations on Elder Law issues.

 

She lives with her husband, David, and daughter, Emily, in St. Petersburg.  They enjoy classic cars, the theater and traveling.
